Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant was ejected before the primary half ended against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He received his first technical foul with lower than one minute left to finish the second quarter. In lower than ten seconds, he picked up a fast second technical foul which led to his ejection before the primary half. After he was ejected, Morant pointed toward the fans and indicated he was having a conversation with a fan and was not arguing with an official or an opponent.

The fans watching courtside couldn’t consider the ejection. Understandably, Morant was not completely happy. After the sport, the officials gave a proof in regards to the call. Nonetheless, Morant called it a “cap.”

Ja Morant calls the officials’ explanation a lie

Drew Hill, a journalist from ‘The Every day Memphian,’ shared the official’s clarification on Twitter. The tweet stated official John Goble explained that Morant picked the second technical foul not for comments made to the group but for making a comment “questioning the integrity of the officials.”

It caught the eyes of Ja Morant who took his time to call it a lie. Many fans showed their support for the purpose guard as well.

There have been some controversial calls this season and the fans are clearly not completely happy. Many feel that calls like this affect the flow of the sport. Especially when it happens to a superstar like Morant, it could cripple the team as well. Morant played just 16 minutes against the Thunder and recorded 6 points, 5 rebounds, and a couple of assists.

Interestingly, the Grizzlies had two strong quarters after Morant’s ejection and mounted a comeback. Nonetheless, the Thunder were capable of hold on to a 115-109 win.

After his ejection, while leaving the ground, Morant was seen talking to the fans saying that it was not their fault. Moreover, he face-timed the fans with the assistance of his father.

Luka Doncic and the Mavs won their appeal

Recently, there was a controversial call on Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic. Interestingly, it was during a game against the Thunder as well. Within the third quarter, Doncic was not completely happy along with his team’s defense and yelled at his teammate Dwight Powell and encouraged him. Nonetheless, the official thought Doncic yelled at him and gave him a technical foul.

Doncic couldn’t consider the decision and tried to elucidate it to the officials. However the officials weren’t able to hear about it. This blew up as many fans called out the official for the poor call. The Mavs then reportedly appealed the decision by sending multiple angles of the decision to the NBA office. After checking, NBA rescinded the technical foul called against Doncic.

It would be interesting to see if the Grizzlies appeal Ja Morant’s ejection against the Thunder.
