And talking to The Big Issue, frontman Alex Turner, 36, revealed the record will bring the group ‘back to earth’ following the intergalactic sound of their last album.

‘The strings on this record are available in and out of focus and that was a deliberate move and hopefully every part has its own space. There’s time the band involves the front after which the strings come to the front.’

The upcoming album was made with group’s longtime producer James Ford and was recorded in Butley Priory, a converted monastery in rural Suffolk.

Alex – who stars within the band alongside  Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley and Matt Helders – explained that the choice to snub a typical recording studio was inspired by legends of rock-and-roll.

The musician said: ‘There is a bunch of Led Zeppelin and Stones records where they were on this house within the country after which they went and sorted all of it out and overdubbed it elsewhere.

‘We went there in the summertime, took all of the equipment, got the raw material after which took it on elsewhere.’

The discharge of The Automotive comes 20 years after Arctic Monkeys were formed in Sheffield and Alex admitted he wants the group to remain true to their roots.

He said: ‘You’ve got to follow your instincts in the identical way you probably did in the primary place. In that way, it does all feel prefer it’s connected to us 20 years ago within the garage when it was pure instinct.’

The announcement comes after the band debuted one recent track – titled I Ain’t Quite Where I Think I Am – from their upcoming album, during their show at Zurich Openair festival in Switzerland on Tuesday.
