Children interview Sir Keir Starmer about the associated fee of living crisis

“Would the associated fee of living crisis be so bad if Labour were in charge?”

As a part of a special series Newsround is giving kids the chance to talk to the leaders of various political parties within the UK, to search out out what they consider the associated fee of living..

On this interview we speak to Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer.

Asked how he would tackle the difficulty of individuals struggling to purchase food and pay bills, Sir Keir said: “I don’t desire to live in a society where people need to go to foodbanks to live. I would like to live in a society where people have gotten enough money in the primary place to give you the option to get the food they need.”

He said that Labour would tax oil and gas firms to stop the energy price cap from rising within the UK, put money into renewable energy, like wind and solar energy, and insulate more homes to maintain heat in.
