She went on to joke that ‘You truly need to be killed when you discuss it, so I’m not gonna say anything.’

Cox most recently returned to the role of Gale Weathers within the fifth movie, titled simply Scream just like the 1996 original film, which got here out in January.

She reprised the role alongside her co-stars from the unique movie Neve Campbell and David Arquette, to whom Cox was married from 1999 to 2013.

It’s unlikely Arquette will return in much of a capability, if any, since his character Dewey was killed off in essentially the most recent film.

‘It was sad because Dewey is such a beloved character and he’s so goofy,’ Cox said on the Just For Variety podcast hosted by Marc Malkin back in March. ‘I assumed he brought such a comedic twist to the entire franchise. I believe that was a downer.’

Paramount announced a sixth movie for the series back in February. The Hollywood Reporter reported Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett would return to direct the movie.
