Cruise holiday tip as guests shares why passengers should ‘board last’ | Cruise | Travel

A cruise ship will often open for passengers quite just a few hours before it sets sail. But while many passengers prefer to get on board early, just a few have said they like to be last to board.

A guest wrote on Reddit: “I give opposite advice to other cruisers. Everyone is frequently in a rush to get on the ship. I take my time.

“My voyages often have a 4pm departing time. I waltz in at about 1pm-1:30pm. We get up, leave our luggage with the hotel and exit for a pleasant late breakfast/brunch.

“Come back and collect our stuff, catch an Uber and we’re often breezing through a steadily moving light line around 1pm.”

While it could possibly be a great idea to skip the queues and board later within the day, guests should be sure their flight arrives an extended time before the scheduled departure.

The ship won’t wait for late passengers so guests should aim to fly within the day before or within the early morning.

If guests do fly within the night before, they might leave their luggage on the hotel because the cruise passenger suggested.

Many guests will attempt to board the ship as soon because it opens so a later arrival could mean passengers beat the queues.

One other guest added: “Extra bonus for us since we’ve began doing this, staterooms are ready (or almost ready) once you get onboard.

Guests could discover a restaurant near the port and luxuriate in a relaxed brunch before boarding the ship.

So long as they offer themselves enough time to get on board, they might have a way more relaxed experience.

Nevertheless, one other passenger disagreed saying: “Why delay getting on board when you may get settled in and begin your vacation ASAP?

“Grab some lunch once you get onboard together with a tasty beverage, and soak up the scene.”

Even when guests board the ship immediately, a number of the restaurants and bars are prone to be open.
