Ex-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel told ‘no probability’ he replaces England’s Gareth Southgate | Football | Sport

Despite questions surrounding his future, Southgate has claimed that he desires to proceed to guide his country in the longer term beyond the tournament in Qatar.

“The England a part of my journey as a player and manager has probably been the best highlight and the best honour for me,” Southgate said in October. “I’m hoping this isn’t the top of it…I’m hoping there’s just a few more years ahead.

“I still feel I’ve got a number of improving to do and hopefully a number of years ahead. But in fact, there’s rather a lot in the subsequent couple of months that we wish to attain as a start. Beyond that, I’m assuming life will proceed and there are a number of challenges ahead.”
