Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others are usually not doing enough to guard LGBTQ users, GLAAD says

Published:

Technology firms are usually not doing enough to make their platforms protected for LGBTQ users, based on a recent report.

“Current content moderation and hate speech policies proceed to be inadequate, failing to guard LGBTQ users and the LGBTQ community as a complete, while at the identical time firms knowingly neglect to implement the policies that do exist”, GLAAD said, introducing its recent Social Media Safety Index.

The organisation scored Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok on policies including deadnaming and misgendering of transgender and non-binary people to higher training for content moderators.
