Fox Producer Drops, for Now, Case Accusing Network of Coercion

Published:

A former Fox News producer who has accused the network of coercing her into providing misleading testimony has dismissed considered one of her lawsuits against the corporate, not less than for now.

In a court filing on Friday in Delaware Superior Court, Abby Grossberg, who worked for the hosts Maria Bartiromo and Tucker Carlson, said that she was voluntarily dismissing the grievance without prejudice, which implies the case could be brought again.

Ms. Grossberg had claimed within the lawsuit that she had been pressured and coached by Fox’s lawyers to guard the corporate and lie in her sworn deposition as a part of the Dominion Voting Systems case against Fox.

Fox settled with Dominion for $787.5 million in April, just before the trial was about to start within the high-profile defamation case.

Parisis G. Filippatos, a lawyer for Ms. Grossberg, said that his client intended to refile the case in one other jurisdiction “in the approaching weeks.”

“Fox can be mistaken in viewing our client’s voluntary dismissal of her civil conspiracy claims,” he said, “as a retreat from those claims.”

Mr. Filippatos added: “We’ve got often stated in public that we consider Abby Grossberg’s claims surrounding her coerced testimony within the Dominion case form the essential connective tissue between Fox’s misconduct in that case and the case being adjudicated by Smartmatic in Recent York, where it’s looking for $2.7 billion in damages for very similar misconduct by Fox.”

A Fox spokeswoman referred to an earlier comment on the lawsuit: “The assertion that Ms. Grossberg was coached or intimidated into being dishonest during her Dominion deposition is patently false. We are going to proceed to vigorously defend Fox against her unmeritorious legal claims, that are riddled with false allegations against the network and our employees.”

Ms. Grossberg still has a pending lawsuit against Fox that was filed within the Southern District of Recent York that claims Tucker Carlson’s show had a toxic and misogynistic workplace. Mr. Carlson, considered one of the network’s highest rankings hosts, was abruptly fired on April 24.

Ms. Grossberg was fired by Fox News in March, 4 days after filing her lawsuits.
