Graham Potter has admitted Chelsea’s poor form almost ruined his holiday along with his wife because he was ‘staring into the Pacific Ocean’ interested by the club’s dismal run before the World Cup break.
Potter, who succeeded Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge in September, has seen his side slip to eighth after three successive losses.
He jetted to California along with his wife Rachel throughout the World Cup break to fulfill up with co-owner Behdad Eghbali, essentially the most significant investor behind chairman Todd Boehly.

Talking to reporters, Potter said: ‘I might relatively have gone on holiday with a few wins behind me, because I probably would have been higher company for my poor wife.
‘Because it was, I’m staring into the Pacific Ocean, and he or she’s interested by what an exquisite time we’re having, and I’m interested by Chelsea Football Club.’

The 47-year-old admits that while it has been a frustrating run, he has been in a position to step away and deal with the right way to go forward from here.
He added: ‘But thankfully she’s been with me long enough to know that that is the way it is, after which you might have to make use of the pain, the frustration, the frustration of the previous couple of weeks to say “OK, how can we go forward?”
‘After which, like anything, a little bit of distance gives you that point, a little bit of perspective, after which it’s about how you’ll be able to start the means of integrating all of the players back and taking the training of that point and saying “OK, we want to indicate some direction here”.’
Chelsea return to Premier League motion at Stamford Bridge on December 27 against Bournemouth, before a visit to Nottingham Forest comes on Recent 12 months’s Day.
Potter’s side then face the mammoth task of taking up Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City twice in three days – first within the league after which within the FA Cup third Round.

‘After I was over in California I met with Behdad, in order that was good, we had an excellent chat with him and there is implausible support,’ he added. ‘So I’m really looking forward to the weeks, months and years ahead.
‘I’m much more confident, much more aware of the support I even have now than I used to be three months ago after I took the job.
‘In order that tells you something. It is a credit to them and their support and the way they’ve communicated with me – it has been implausible.
‘Everyone knows the pressure and the demands at this club but now we have also got enough individuals who can see the angle and where we’re at to find a way to say, “that is where we’re, how can we improve?”‘
