Jason Preston, former Ohio guard, scores first NBA points for Clippers


Former Ohio University Bobcats standout Jason Preston scored the primary points of his NBA profession with a 3-pointer in the primary quarter of the Los Angeles Clippers’ win Tuesday night against the Blazers in Portland.

It was Preston’s only field-goal attempt of the sport in six minutes of motion. He also had his first NBA assist.

Preston, chosen thirty third overall within the 2021 NBA Draft, didn’t play last season due to a foot injury. He played three minutes in his debut for the Clippers Oct. 23.

The Clippers recalled Preston from their G-League affiliate, the Ontario Clippers, earlier within the day. In 10 games for Ontario, Preston averaged 12.5 points and 6.7 assists per game.

Preston played three seasons at Ohio and helped the Bobcats to the Mid-American Conference’s automatic bid within the 2021 NCAA Tournament and a first-round upset of Virginia.
