She was snapped getting arrested last month after allegedly ‘telling a police officer to “f*** off you fat c***” during five minutes of carnage’ in Bury St Edmunds.

And Jessie Wallace’s EastEnders co-star Scott Maslen has leaped to support his pal following her run-in with the law, putting it right down to the ‘tiring nature’ of their job.

The actor, who plays Jack Branning within the soap, explained that ‘You get caught out sometimes’, but assured that the 50-year-old has ‘learned’ from the incident.

Supportive: Jessie Wallace’s EastEnders co-star Scott Maslen (pictured earlier this week on the TRIC awards) has leaped to her defence following a run-in with the police last month, as he explained that her arrest was as a consequence of ‘tiredness’

Just last month, Jessie hit headlines after footage showed her getting arrested outside of a Burger King after reportedly being ‘kicked out’ of Flex nightclub for being ‘gobby’ and at branding onlookers ‘c***s’ in a foul-mouthed rant.

The star was detained on suspicion of assaulting a police officer in addition to drunk and disorderly conduct, but released for free of charge by Suffolk Police after receiving a conditional caution.

But chatting to The Sun on Sunday, Scott explained: ‘It’s hard on this job. You get caught out sometimes, it’s life.’

Continuing that he ‘loves Jessie’, he shared that there may be ‘nothing incorrect together with her’, adding that the highlight makes it harder to set free.

‘She’s a personality, she works very hard, it’s long days, so when she goes out occasionally, possibly she’s drained. We’re under the highlight, that’s the fact, so whenever you do make a mistake, you might have to watch out,’ explained Scott.

Adding: ‘She’s in a great place, we move on, she’s learned and we go forward.’

Following the arrest, there have been reports that Jessie’s future on BBC soap EastEnders, through which she plays character Kat Slater, was up within the air as bosses ‘considered all options’.

But evidently she is about to stay on the show despite the legal run-in, as her on-screen ex-husband Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) is about to reprise his role within the show.

On screen, the couple’s fiery relationship got here to a sudden end in 2018 when it emerged that Alfie had secretly fathered a son together with her cousin Hayley – which resulted of their divorce.

With the return leading to Jessie undoubtably being involved in tense-filled storylines, BBC bosses appear to have taken the arrest with a pinch of salt, after she is claimed to expressed ‘deep regret’ over the incident.

‘Having them on the forged is seen as a dynamite combination which may get more diehard fans tuning in again.

‘Losing Jessie would have been a disaster for producers who’re pinning lots on latest storylines they’re going to be on the centre off.’
