Singer John Legend called on people offended by President Joe Biden’s attacks on fascists to ascertain themselves.
And his Twitter fans were there for it.
“When the president comes out as anti fascist and pro democracy and you’re feeling attacked … Perhaps you could do some introspection,” Legend tweeted.
He added in one other tweet: “My pastor grandfather would say ‘I ain’t talkin bout you unless it’s you.’”
No person’s “forcing y’all to be pro-insurrection. No person’s forcing y’all to vote for individuals who wish to overturn free and fair elections,” noted Legend, who, together with wife Chrissy Teigen, often supports progressive causes.
“MAGA Republicans don’t respect the Structure. They don’t consider within the rule of law. They don’t recognize the need of the people, refuse to just accept the outcomes of a free election,” said Biden, who warned Americans that they “need to defend” their democracy.
