Lea Michele was all smiles as she celebrated the opening week of Broadway’s Funny Girl at The August Wilson Theatre in Recent York City on Wednesday night.
The 36-year-old actress – who replaced Beanie Feldstein within the lead role of Fanny Brice within the revival – was surrounded by friends and co-stars, including Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy.
The duo had a completely happy reunion, with Michele looking visibly emotional as she hugged the 56-year-old showrunner.

Michele famously starred as Rachel Berry within the musical comedy series, which aired on Fox from 2009 to 2015.
Murphy co-created Glee along with his longtime collaborator Brad Falchuk and screenwriter Ian Brennan.
Michele’s behavior on set of the show became a hot topic within the midst of the pandemic as several of her former co-stars took to social media to share their alleged negative experiences working with the actress.
Despite the drama, Michele may regain the admiration of fans along with her already critically lauded performance in Funny Girl.
And fresh off six standing ovations, Michele looked able to enjoy the glory during Wednesday night’s Funny Girl shindig.
She wore a shining turquoise dress that showcased her toned arms through the celebration.

The Emmy-nominated performer tied her hair back into a decent bun for the length of the event, where she was pictured with the Broadway show’s director Michael Mayer, in addition to her costar Ramin Karimloo.

Funny Girl is centered on the lifetime of female comedian Brice and her turbulent relationship with Nick Arnstein.
The play made its Broadway debut in 1964, and Barbra Streisand received much approval for her work on the project.
She also starred as Brice within the screen adaptation of the musical, which premiered in 1968 and was successful with critics and audiences alike.
The primary revival of the play was produced on the West End in 2016, and Sheridan Smith portrayed the late performer.

It was announced that a Broadway revival of Funny Girl was being produced in 2021.
Beanie Feldstein, 29, was also revealed to have signed on to seem as Brice that August.
The production began previews this past March, and this system officially debuted the next month.
The revival of the musical received primarily negative reviews, with much criticism directed towards the Booksmart actress.

Feldstein surprisingly announced that she had decided to go away the show early this past July.
That very same month, it was revealed that Michele had signed on to fill the actress’ shoes.
The Glee actress has since received much praise for her performance following her debut, which occurred on Tuesday.
