Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company Appian Way and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot acquire film rights to Stephen King bestseller Billy Summers
Leonardo DiCaprio’s and J.J. Abrams’ production firms will work together on the film adaptation of Stephen King’s bestseller Billy Summers.
Deadline reported that the 2 firms, DiCaprio’s Appian Way and Abrams’ Bad Robot, can be working together on the film which is to be written by Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz who co-wrote Tom Cruise’s The Last Samurai together.
Zwick also directed DiCaprio’s 2006 film Blood Diamond which garnered the star a Best Actor Oscar nod.
The publication reported that the project was originally going to be a 10-episode miniseries, however it was decided the book would work higher as a feature-length film.
Billy Summers doesn’t yet have a release day since Zwick and Herskovitz are currently penning the script.

Billy Summers tells the story of a hitman who goes to a small town, waiting to perform his next hit.
The hitman pretends to be an aspiring author as he holes up in a constructing across from where his goal will soon be.
While he initially believed the job shall be like all other, Summers slowly grows wary of his bosses and people concerns are validated as events unfold.
Billy Summers was released in 2021 by the publisher Scribner.
For the reason that character Billy Summers is an aging hitman seeking to retire, DiCaprio could conceivably play him, though no announcement about that has been made.
Abrams’ Bad Robot helped produce the series Lisey’s Story, Castle Rock and 11.22.63, all of that are based on King’s work.
DiCaprio’s company Appian Way is behind the upcoming film Killers of the Flower Moon which can even star the Titanic actor.
Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese, which takes place after ‘members of the Osage tribe in the US are murdered under mysterious circumstances within the Nineteen Twenties sparking a serious F.B.I. investigation involving J. Edgar Hoover,’ in response to the film’s IMDb page.
