Man City news LIVE: Pep Guardiola issues strong defence in dramatic press conference | Football | Sport

Former England manager Sam Allardyce has suggested that other clubs are jealous of Manchester City. The 68-year-old has admitted that he hopes the club are found not guilty as he enjoys the challenge of some teams having more cash than others.

“In fact there’s jealousy – all the opposite clubs can be rubbing their hands together wanting Man City to be found guilty, as we’ve seen within the press,” Allardyce said on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast.

“Football has all the time been unfair. The proven fact that if you could have more fans, you could have more cash to spend, that’s what it was like once I played.

“Those that had probably the most fans had probably the most money, and that’s how they grew. Football is a business now; so long as it’s the precise money coming in, why not welcome it?

“It looks like the owners and the chief executives want City kicked out of the league which shouldn’t be the precise thing to do. I hope they aren’t found guilty and prove the opposite side and are available out on top.”
