Manchester United look like nearing the top of their transfer business before they kick off their Premier League campaign against Wolves on Monday in what could be a welcome change for Erik ten Hag. The Red Devils have already spent around £179million on three signings and with one or two latest arrivals within the pipeline, the Dutchman will likely be satisfied with how their summer has gone to this point.
Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund have been snapped up by the Red Devils, with all three improving the spine of Ten Hag’s team, with Mount and Onana set to face Wolves on Monday while Hojlund recovers from injury.
But squad additions will likely be required before the top of the month if United are to maintain apace with the Premier League’s top sides as Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal search for brand spanking new reinforcements in the ultimate weeks of the window.
United know they should dump a few of their fringe players first to boost funds after their hopes of completing a takeover with Sheikh Jassim or Sir Jim Ratcliffe were effectively dashed by the Glazers, and so they could still determine to make use of the subsequent two and a half weeks to further improve their squad with a centre-back and midfielder still wanted.
