Jesse Metcalfe was the primary celebrity to be un-masked during Saturday evening’s return of ITV’s Masked Dancer.
The Desperate Housewives actor, 43, was revealed because the star behind Astronaut in the course of the episode – to the shock of judges Peter Crouch, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Oti Mabuse.
The show has returned for one more season with a brand recent spread of celebrity contestants for viewers to guess the identities of- hiding behind costumes reminiscent of Candlestick, Scissors, Odd Socks, Prawn Cocktail and Pillar and Post.

Astronaut was chosen to be sent home by the 4 judges, as they chanted for him to ‘take it off’ and reveal his face.
And as Jesse did, the studio audience erupted right into a roar of cheers – while judges Davina and Oti couldn’t contain their shock.

‘It’s American actor Jesse Metcalfe everybody,’ announced host Joel Dommet, because the star waved at the gang.
Viewers at home seemed to be just as shocked on the revelation too, taking to social media to share their surprise.
‘Cannot consider Jesse Metcalfe was Astronaut,’ wrote one viewer to Twitter, while one other said: ‘As if it is the gardener from Desperate Housewives, didn’t expect that’.
And others were quick to notice how the hunk hasn’t modified since his days on the ABC show, despite 18 years having passed.
‘How does he still look the identical 20 years later?!’ questioned one viewer, while one other echoed: ‘What an absolute welcome blast from the past Jesse Metcalfe is. Still looking as amazing as ever.’

Jesse rose to fame starring as Eva Longoria’s secret lover John Rowland in drama-comedy series Desperate Housewives, before happening to steer 2006 flick John Tucker Must Die.
And explaining why he decided to go for Masked Dancer, the star shared that he wanted to overcome a fear of dancing.
‘I believed it will be fun because dance is something that basically intimidates me so it is a fear that I desired to face. This has been unbelievable, it’s probably the most zany things I’ve ever done in my profession but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself,’ he detailed.
Admitting he needed to ‘outright lie’ to pals when keeping his involvement within the show under wraps, Jesse described the secrecy as ‘so hard’.
And it’s no surprise the actor had a difficult time on the dance floor, as he jested: ‘Truthfully, I could hardly see, so I used to be relieved after I could finally remove the mask!’
