Michelle Branch regrets tweet accusing husband Patrick Carney of cheating… after suspending divorce for six months

Grammy winner Michelle Branch now regrets tweeting (after which deleting) an accusation that her second husband – five-time Grammy winner Patrick Carney – had cheating on her on August 10.

‘I definitely shouldn’t have taken to Twitter to say anything,’ the Ohio-born 42-year-old said on this week’s People.

‘Here I’m saying, “Please respect our privacy,” but I’m the one who said it to the world.’

Michelle and the Arizona-born 39-year-old – who were married to other people once they met at a 2015 Grammy Awards party – co-produced her fourth studio album The Trouble With Fever, which drops this Friday.

‘We made this record together. I’m very pleased with it, and it’s totally much our creative baby. That fact doesn’t change,’ stressed Branch.

‘If anything, [this situation has] weirdly shined the highlight on my record greater than it probably would’ve gotten. It isn’t ideal, but I’m making lemonade out of lemons.’

The homeschooled songwriter – who swears by therapy – is looking forward to kicking off her coinciding eight-date tour this Thursday on the Paradise Rock Club in Boston.

‘I feel like it should be exactly what my heart needs without delay,’ Michelle said.

‘It would be very, very cathartic. I do not know what I could be doing if I did not have that distraction.’

Branch and Patrick decided to put the pause on the tip their three-year marriage a month after filing for divorce and her domestic violence charge (which have been dropped) for slapping him ‘one or two times’ at their Nashville home.
