NFL player comes home to offer back to Charlottesville kids

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – A National Football League star got here home to his roots Saturday, July 7 to offer back to the community that raised him.

Aaron Stinnie held a faculty supplies giveaway for kids on the First Recreation Center. Stinnie went to Saint Anne’s Belfield while growing up in Charlottesville.

At his event, almost 50 students received free backpacks, filled with gear for the upcoming 12 months. He also provided shoes and coupons free of charge haircuts for the kids.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to return back, you recognize, this this fashion I grew up, you recognize, it’s my hometown. So, it’s at all times great to return back and help out and provides back to the community,” Stinnie said. “It’s at all times great being back home, you recognize, I get to see my family and see everybody, so it’s awesome.

Stinnie says he’s planning more events similar to this and hopes to continue to grow his efforts. He says there will likely be one other school supplies giveaway next summer.
