Bucs-Panthers spread shrinking

A scoreless first quarter moved the purpose spread within the Buccaneers-Panthers game, as Tampa Bay, which began as a 13.5-point favorite, is now listed as a 9.5-point favorite in live betting at BetMGM, however the over/under has plummeted, because it has fallen to 29.5 points.

That’s the lowest over/under total on the board for each in-game and pregame betting in Week 7.

Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown ruled out with concussion

Amon-Ra St. Brown’s loss is a big hit for Detroit’s offense, which is already without RB D’Andre Swift (shoulder) and WR DJ Chark (ankle).

Chark was placed on IR this week; the Lions had hoped Swift can be able to play after resting him the past three weeks but he was not healthy enough to go against the Cowboys.

Bucs shuffle O-line vs. Panthers

Big move here in Charlotte, as Bucs have benched rookie Luke Goedeke at left guard instead of backup Nick Leverett.

Goedeke has struggled to stop opposing defensive tackles in the primary six weeks and now has been replaced. The Bucs have punted on their first two drives today against a depleted Carolina team.

Game is scoreless in the primary quarter.

Cade York gives Browns a 10-3 lead with a 41-yard FG. Might have been worse for Ravens, but Kyle Hamilton sacked Brissett on third down.

Jaguars answer Giants’ rating with TD of their very own

Quite the reply by the Jaguars after the Giants marched down for an opening-drive TD. Jacksonville takes just 6 plays to maneuver 70 yards and scores its own opening-drive TD — capped by a 7-yard run by Travis Etienne.

After a defensive penalty, the Jaguars elected to go for two and get it. It’s Etienne yet again. 8-7 Jaguars.

Vegas oddsmakers respect the Bengals

The sports betting world doesn’t expect the Falcons to return back from a 7-0 deficit to the Bengals, as BetMGM now has Cincinnati as a 14.5-point favorite and a -1000 moneyline wager for in-game betting.

The over/under in that contest has now also vaulted to 52.5 points, indicating that the sharps could also be taking a look at a blowout by the Bengals on this one.

Long TD pass to Tyler Boyd gives Bengals early lead

Bengals jump out to a 7-0 lead against the Falcons on a 60-yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow to Tyler Boyd.

Boyd got here into today’s game with little or no productivity on stretch vertical passes (aerials thrown 20+ yards downfield), as he had only two catches for 65 yards. A blown coverage by Atlanta modified that, as Boyd’s 60-yard catch gives the Bengals the early lead.

What should we expect from Cowboys with Dak Prescott back at QB?

Thursday was Dak Prescott’s first practice in pads working with the first-team offense since he fractured his right thumb within the season opener.

When he ran out for the offense’s work within the two-minute drill, Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons was waiting.

“Welcome back to the s— show,” Parsons told him. He then added, “Simply because you come back that don’t mean nothing goes to vary around (here). That is our s— right here.”

Since Prescott has been out, the Dallas defense has definitely grow to be the identity of the team. With him back, that isn’t expected to vary. But an offense that averaged 191 passing yards per game while Prescott was away is bound to get a lift in his return.

Prescott was a full participant in practice all week. He’ll start Sunday against the Detroit Lions. He’s not expected to have any throwing limitations, but there may very well be some rust along with his timing. There’s only a lot that may be simulated in practice. Prescott said he has had no issues taking snaps under center. He’s not expected to wear extra protection on his throwing hand, but perhaps some extra tape to assist along with his grip.

Should fantasy managers start Christian McCaffrey today?

For those fantasy managers wondering whether or not to begin Christian McCaffrey in his first game with the San Francisco 49ers, consider this. McCaffrey has reportedly been working on a limited package of plays that might include goal line work. That can turn out to be useful in a San Francisco offense that rates very high this season in percentage of rush attempts within the red zone, as they’re tied for third with Philadelphia at 64.0 percent (per TruMedia).

Add that to CMC’s ability to potentially be used as a gadget pass catcher on screen plays and he’s definitely someone to get in a lineup as a flex starter as a minimum.

Dak Prescott’s return = Lot of points in Detroit

The Lions-Cowboys over/under line is 49 points, which is tied for the second highest over/under total in Week 7. A part of that has to do with the return of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott to the lineup, but a few of it also has to do with among the odds trends for the Lions this season (per TruMedia), as Detroit’s games have hit the over in 4 of its five matchups.

The Cowboys have their share of favorable odds trends, as Dallas is 11-3 against the spread as a favourite since 2021, 5-1 against the spread following a loss since 2021, and 6-1 against the spread in October since 2021.

Detroit can be 0-10-1 in road games since 2021, however the Lions do have some trends moving into their direction, as Detroit is 5-1 against the spread in games off greater than six days rest since 2020 and 14-7 against the spread as an underdog in 2021.

Add it up and playing for the over might just be the very best technique to go on this matchup.
