It can be the second Super Nintendo World to open globally – the primary, set in Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan, launched in early 2021.

At the doorway, Super Nintendo World Hollywood visitors will go through the enduring green ‘warp pipe’ from the Super Mario games.

It will lead them into the fairytale interior of Peach’s Castle. Once through the castle doors, they’ll set off and explore the ‘Mushroom Kingdom’ that makes up the park.

Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge will likely be a highlight for fans of the video game series. The ‘all-new, technologically-advanced ride’ guarantees to fuse ‘cutting-edge augmented reality with projection mapping technology and actual set pieces along a moving ride track’.

Riders will join Team Mario and ‘steer through underwater courses, and courses within the clouds, to compete for the Golden Cup while collecting coins to defeat Team Bowser and win’, an announcement reveals.

The ride lies inside Bowser’s Castle, a fortress that is embellished with a ‘breathtaking’ sculpture of a ‘large and powerful’ Bowser.

As visitors move through the ‘winding’ corridors of the castle, they pass by displays of medallions and trophies and find out about Bowser’s plans to defeat Mario and claim the Golden Cup.
