Rangers finalise signing of £60,000-a-week star

In line with sources who spoke to Football Insider, Ben Davies may have a Rangers medical on Monday as he completes a £4 million transfer from Liverpool.

After agreeing to a four-year contract, the 26-year-old defender has been given permission to affix the Glasgow giants and finish the transfer procedures.

Rangers and Liverpool have come to a £4 million agreement on Davies’ deal, who has three years left on a contract earning £60,000 per week with Klopp’s side.

He’ll probably receive a considerable wage raise when he joins Rangers, where the highest-paid players make far less.

After failing to begin a single skilled game for Liverpool since joining from Preston North End on the ultimate day of the January 2021 transfer window, Davies will move to Ibrox.

As a left-sided center-back who also can play left-back, the defender, who has spent nearly all of his profession within the English Championship, can be a like-for-like alternative for Bassey.

From 2017 to 2021, Davies was a pillar in Preston’s defence for 3 and a half seasons until being lured away to Liverpool.

He arrived at Anfield within the midst of an ongoing injury crisis, with Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk among the many long-term casualties.

The Merseysiders reportedly paid the center-back an initial price of merely £500,000, with add-ons raising the overall cost to as much as £1.6 million.
