Each Rangers and their Old Firm rivals Celtic, who won the Scottish Premiership title last yr and are also considering acquiring Barkley this summer, will take part in the UEFA Champions League.

Simon Phillips, a good and renowned reporter, told GiveMeSport earlier this month that Celtic are among the many teams interested by the 28-year-old English playmaker.

Other teams alleged to be interested by Barkley include Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, and West Ham United.

He wrote:

“Rangers are looking right into a deal for Chelsea outcast Ross Barkley – with the prospect of offering him a crack on the Champions League.

“The Scottish giants are keen on midfield schemer Barkley and could have an actual shot at landing him before the window shuts.

“Chelsea need to shift Barkley and will even free the previous England midfielder.

“It will take an enormous repay to let Barkley go but latest owner Todd Boehly may make a suggestion to let him move on.”
