A resurfaced video has awkwardly shown Florence Pugh gushing over director Olivia Wilde – years before their Don’t Worry Darling ‘feud’.

The actress, 26, declared she was ‘totally in love with’ Olivia during an interview with Beanie Feldstein for Variety’s Actors on Actors series in November 2019.

It comes after reported tension between Florence and Olivia, 38, with their latest film Don’t Worry Darling being tormented by rumours of behind-the-scenes drama.

Chatting with Beanie about her 2019 film Booksmart – which Olivia directed – Florence asked: ‘I even have many questions on Booksmart, firstly what was it wish to work with Olivia Wilde because I’m totally in love along with her!?’

Beanie then replied: ‘I feel you and Olivia could be so drawn to one another! Because she is just as fearless as you’re along with her work on screen and off screen.’

Florence then smiled back knowingly.

It comes after earlier this week Florence said that it’s ‘inspiring’ to ‘see a lady ward off and say ‘no’, on and off camera’ as she made a subtle dig on Monday amid her feud with Olivia.

She made the comment while appearing on the red carpet on the Venice Film Festival premiere of their latest film Don’t Worry Darling.

While appearing on the red carpet on Monday evening, Florence was asked by an Italian journalist about what she found ‘inspiring’ within the film.

She responded: ‘I feel it’s extremely very inspiring to see a lady ward off and say ‘no’, and query every thing. It’s extremely exciting to see a lady do this on and off camera.’

Asked when she ‘says ‘no’ off camera, Pugh jokingly responded: ‘When do I say ‘no’? When someone says I am unable to have cake.’

A report from Page Six in late July claimed that Pugh was upset that Wilde was hooking up with Styles throughout the production of Don’t Worry Darling — while still married to Jason Sudeikis — before they split in November.

The rumours intensified after Olivia suggested Florence must have a ‘wake-up call’ in a leaked video this month.

The video was leaked after Shia LaBeouf refuted Wilde’s claim that he had been fired from the project, and within the footage Wilde may be heard encouraging LaBeouf to remain signed on to the film, somewhat than leave it, while also hinting at some apparent tension with Pugh.

Wilde gave an interview to Variety where she said Shia LaBeouf’s process was ‘not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions’ after the role was ultimately recast along with her now-boyfriend Harry.

In response, LaBeouf supplied alleged evidence to refute Wilde’s claims, including an email he sent to the director and a video that she allegedly sent to him, proving he walked away from the film somewhat than being fired.

LaBeouf claims he ‘quit the film because of lack of rehearsal time’ on August seventeenth in 2020, and forwarded Variety two emails that he claims he recently sent to Wilde.

Some studio sources have claimed to the publication that LaBeouf had been fired, while one other said his departure was right down to a ‘collective recognition that LaBeouf’s sort of acting wasn’t a great fit for Wilde’s approach as a director.’

Nonetheless LaBeouf has sent Variety purported screenshots of his conversations with Wilde, which claim they met in person to debate his exit from the project.

Wilde allegedly texted the actor: ‘Thanks for letting me in in your thought process. I do know that may not fun. Doesn’t feel good to say no to someone, and I respect your honesty.

‘I’m honored you were willing to go there with me, for me to inform a story with you. I’m gutted since it might have been something special. I need to make clear how much it means to me that you just trust me. That is a present I’ll take with me.’

LaBeouf then claims to the trade outlet that he ‘officially’ quit the film the next day after their conversation in August 2020.

In addition to texts, LaBeouf provided Variety with a video that Wilde allegedly sent him on August nineteenth 2020, two days after he is alleged to have quit.

Within the video Wilde is heard saying she is ‘not ready to provide up on this yet,’ as she appears to beg the actor to reconsider. Wilde is then said to allude to tension between LaBeouf and lead star Florence, who plays Alice, the wife of Jack.

‘I feel like I’m not ready to provide up on this yet, and I too am heartbroken and I would like to figure this out,’ Wilde allegedly says within the video.

‘, I feel this may be a little bit of a wake-up call for Miss Flo [Florence Pugh], and I would like to know for those who’re open to giving this a shot with me, with us.’

Wilde goes on: ‘If she really commits, if she really puts her mind and heart into it at this point and for those who guys could make peace – and I respect your viewpoint, I respect hers – but for those who guys can do it, what do you’re thinking that? Is there hope? Will you let me know?’
