#StanfordNFL Week 6: NFL Debut

The Los Angeles Chargers elevated Foster Sarell off the practice squad and the offensive tackle made his NFL debut off the bench in a 19-16 Monday night time beyond regulation victory over Denver. He became the twenty sixth Stanford alum to play within the NFL this season. He played on the entire Chargers’ field goal and point-after snaps, including the 39-yard winner by Dustin Hopkins in time beyond regulation. In the identical game, Cameron Fleming began at offensive right tackle for the Broncos and led the team’s linemen in run blocking (80.0) and pass blocking (78.1) grades by Pro Football Focus. 

Washington defensive end Casey Toohill had three tackles within the Commanders’ 12-7 Thursday night victory in Chicago, including a touchdown-saving push out of bounds of running back Khalil Herbert on the 6-yard line after a 64-yard gain. The Bears would turn the ball over on downs on the 1 – making Toohill’s tackle vital in Washington’s victory. Toohill played 25 snaps on defense and two on special teams and had a 74.4 tackling grade by Pro Football Focus.

Indianapolis starting weakside linebacker Bobby Okereke made a game-high 13 tackles, including eight solo, and had a tackle for loss within the Colts’ 34-27 victory over visiting Jacksonville. Okereke played 56 defensive snaps and 6 special teams snaps. Okereke didn’t miss a tackle, and had a team-high 84.0 tackling grade by PFF. His 13 tackles were one off his profession high. Jaguars’ offensive tackle Walker Little played on two offensive snaps, each as a tackle-eligible, with one among those leading to a 61-yard touchdown run by JaMycal Hasty. Little also played three special teams snaps. 

Atlanta starting center Drew Dalman played every offensive snap within the Falcons’ 28-14 victory over visiting San Francisco. He earned a 70.9 pass blocking grade from Pro Football Focus, with zero sacks and nil hits allowed. Linebacker Curtis Robinson was designated to return from the 49ers’ practice squad and made his season debut, playing on 4 special teams snaps. Robinson was the twenty fifth former Stanford alum to play within the NFL this season. 

Latest York Jets’ offensive right guard Nate Herbig played every offensive snap in a 27-10 victory at Green Bay. He didn’t allow a sack or a QB hit. Defensive tackle Solomon Thomas played 19 defensive snaps for the Jets and had a 72.3 run defense grade by Pro Football Focus.

Carolina starting running back Christian McCaffrey rushed for 69 yards on 13 carries and caught seven passes for 89 yards within the Panthers’ 24-10 loss on the Los Angeles Rams. McCaffrey caught a brief pass for a 49-yard gain, the longest play of the competition, and had six of Carolina’s seven longest gains. McCaffrey played on 86 percent of the Panthers’ offensive snaps. Teammate Henry Anderson had three tackles, including one solo, while playing linebacker. He played 23 defensive snaps and had a QB hurry. 

McCaffrey accounted for 74.5 percent of the team’s yards from scrimmage, which is the best by a single player in a game this season. It is the second-highest percentage by a player in a game during the last 20 seasons. This was his twenty fourth profession game with 50-plus rushing yards and 50-plus receiving yards, passing Tiki Barber and Ladainian Tomlinson for sole possession of second-most in NFL history. McCaffrey’s 390 profession receptions at the moment are third all-time for running back receptions in a player’s first six seasons. 

Minnesota starting nose tackle Harrison Phillips had one tackle in 41 defensive snaps within the Vikings’ 24-16 victory at Miami. 

 

NFL: New England Patriots at Cleveland Browns

Latest England’s Jake Bailey punted 4 times for a 41.0-yard average and had three contained in the 20-yard line, including one which was muffed and resulted in a Patriots’ takeaway and touchdown in a 38-15 victory at Cleveland. Bailey also had two touchbacks on kickoffs and held on a kicker Nick Folk’s field goal and 4 extra-points. 

Latest Orleans starting left cornerback Paulson Adebo had three tackles and one pass defensed while playing every defensive snap within the Saints’ 30-26 loss to visiting Cincinnati. He has recorded a pass breakup in each of his three starts since getting back from injury. Starting left guard Andrus Peat played 40 offensive snaps and 4 special teams snaps for the Saints before leaving the sport due to injury. For the victorious Bengals, safety Michael Thomas played 19 special teams snaps. 

Arizona starting tight end Zach Ertz caught seven passes for 70 yards in a 19-9 loss at Seattle, including a deep 32-yarder down the center. He leads NFC tight ends with 35 receptions. He played 68 of the Cardinals’ 71 offensive snaps. His Seahawks’ tight end counterpart Colby Parkinson caught two passes for 11 yards and played 24 offensive snaps and 10 on special teams. 

 

NFL: Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City safety Justin Reid made five tackles, including three solo, and defensed a pass within the Chiefs’ 24-20 loss to visiting Buffalo in a rematch of the 2021 AFC Championship Game. He played 72 of Kansas City’s 73 defensive snaps and had two QB hurries. 

Tennessee tight end Austin Hooper, Las Vegas linebacker Blake Martinez, and Houston quarterback Davis Mills and defensive lineman Thomas Booker had byes. 

Dallas tight end Dalton Schultz was inactive. Dallas receiver Simi Fehoko was placed on injured reserve. Latest England running back Ty Montgomery remained on injured reserve. Philadelphia receiver J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Atlanta tight end Tucker Fisk, and Cincinnati receiver Trenton Irwin were on practice squads.
