Stormont stalemate: Plan B needed if no return by autumn – Varadkar


A plan B may very well be needed if there isn’t a progress in restoring the Northern Ireland Executive by autumn, Taoiseach (Irish prime minister) Leo Varadkar has said.

Mr Varadkar met Northern Ireland’s fundamental political parties on Wednesday.

He also visited Windsor Park stadium where he told reporters the Irish government will “do every part that we are able to” to help by way of political support or co-funding infrastructure projects.

Northern Ireland has been and not using a functioning executive and assembly for greater than a yr as a result of the DUP’s protest against post-Brexit trading rules.
