Strictly newcomer Vito Cappola ‘dated’ celebrity partner on Italian series

One in all the brand new professionals joining Strictly Come Dancing could have to be wary of the show’s curse as he previously dated one in all his dance partners.

Vito Coppola has been unveiled as one in all 4 latest dancers joining the BBC series later this 12 months.

The performer, 29, won the Italian version of the show last 12 months with pop star Arisa, 39, and the pair ended up dating, based on The Mirror.

The pair have reportedly since gone their separate ways, meaning Vito might be single again for the brand new series. 

Following their fling, Vito told the publication Mio that the pair ‘remained on good terms’ and have a ‘friendly bond’.  

The Strictly curse has develop into infamous through the years, with many celebrity contestants occurring to have romantic flings with their dance partners. 

Vito said of joining the show: ‘I’m really excited to develop into a part of this family. I cannot wait to start out this latest adventure and to challenge myself. Strictly sto arrivando! (or: Strictly I’m coming!)’

The 4 latest world class dancers completing this 12 months’s skilled troupe are European cup winner Vito, Chinese National Champion Carlos Gu, former Under 21 British National Champion Lauren Oakley and Latin dance champion Michelle Tsiakkas. 

They join the skilled dancers already revealed for the upcoming series: Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Cameron Lombard, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Giovanni Pernice, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington and Nancy Xu. 

Show favourites Alijaz Skorjanec and Oti Mabuse each quit Strictly Come Dancing earlier this 12 months. 

Not every pro dancer might be paired with a celeb with 4 traditionally performing only in the professional routines.

Carlos Gu said of joining the show: ‘I’m thrilled to affix Strictly and really excited to start. It is a latest chapter of my life and a latest challenge as well. I’m absolutely able to tackle this journey and to shine.’

Former Under 21 British National Champion Lauren Oakley gushed: ‘I’ve grown up watching Strictly, all the time hoping that someday I could possibly be a part of one of the best show on television, doing what I really like probably the most.’

‘Now that it’s happening, it doesn’t quite seem real. I can not wait to start out this latest sequined adventure and join this incredible family.’

Latin champ Michelle Tsiakkas said: ‘Being knowledgeable dancer on Strictly Come Dancing has been my dream ever since I used to be a bit girl.’

The 61-year-old explained that ‘all the things is feasible’, and noted that the show’s executive producer, Sarah James, is all the time ‘looking outside of the box’.

Chatting to The Mirror during London’s TRIC Awards last week, the judge shared:  ‘All the pieces is feasible. [Executive producer] Sarah James is all the time looking outside the box, and if it matches… I’m sure we’ll be seeing loads of belongings you won’t expect.’

If it was to be the case, the move would follow on from last 12 months’s same-sex finalists John Whaite, 33, and dance partner Johannes Radebe, 35.

The favored duo was prefaced by boxer Nicola Adams and Katya Jones’ pairing in 2020 in the course of the series. 

Strictly Come Dancing returns for its twentieth series this autumn on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
