Tourist ban: Visitors banned from Orkney and Shetland in Scotland because of bird flu | Travel News | Travel

Together with great skuas and gannets, herring gulls, kittiwakes, Arctic terns and puffins have tested positive for the disease.

There are fears the flu could spread to endangered birds, including species of which there are lower than 100 left within the UK.

A Scottish Government spokesperson said the newest outbreak of avian flu was the most important ever seen within the UK.
