Portugal is now on red alert for extreme heat conditions.
Fires are expected within the country and the Foreign Office warned “mainland Portugal is in a state of contingency until midnight on July 15 attributable to exceptionally high temperatures and a heightened risk of forest fires”.
“There’s an increased risk of forest fires during summer months and when the weather is hot and dry.”
Even though it continues to be secure to travel to Portugal, the Foreign Office really helpful “remaining vigilant and following the guidance provided by your airline or tour operator in case you find you’re affected”.
“Industrial motion can occur occasionally and cause delays and disruption to travel.”
The IPMA weather institute said the new weather is anticipated to proceed in the brand new few days.
