Mauricio Pochettino refused to be drawn on any potential incomings during his press conference on Friday ahead of their clash with Liverpool after the developments within the race to sign Caicedo.
However the Argentine reiterated their desire to usher in latest bodies, having made only two senior signings this summer, after calling for ‘at the least one’ midfielder earlier this month.
“I feel you realize me thoroughly, I don’t discuss players that don’t belong to us. I’m so respectful,” Pochettino told reporters.
Chelsea have spent £110m on Nicolas Jackson, Axel Disasi, Lesley Ugochukwu and Angelo this summer. A deal for Caicedo would double that tally, and the £20m saved from not signing Adams might be dedicated to funding their next bid for the Ecuadorian.
