In response to Dharmesh Sheth, West Ham’s second offer for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana was turned down.
“Had it confirmed West Ham United have had a second bid rejected by Lille for midfielder Amadou Onana.
“The offer was believed to be around €30m. While West Ham haven’t closed the door on pursuing the player, it is assumed they’re other options.”
West Ham look to have only recently turn into involved on this transfer story, but after having a second offer rejected, it finally seems as if it is perhaps coming to a conclusion.
The dependable midfielder would have been a terrific addition to David Moyes’ team and would have permitted more rotation between Tomas Soucek, Declan Rice, and himself.
He played in all eight of their matches, giving him priceless Champions League experience along with his 31 league appearances from last season.
AS Monaco boss, Philippe Clement, highlighted how much he values the midfielder from Hamburg and the way he initially tried to sign him.
He said: “I feel very strongly in Onana’s quality. Consequently, we didn’t get the prospect to work with him, but for me, he’s a player with an enormous future.”
