What Grant Williams Credits To Celtics’ NBA-Best Win Streak

Published:

The Boston Celtics have kicked off their 2022-23 season red-hot, winners in 12 of their first 15 contests, adequate for one of the best record within the NBA entering their Friday contest against the Recent Orleans Pelicans amid an eight-game winning streak.

After scoring at least 109 points and scoring 120-plus on six occasions throughout the streak, there’s absolute confidence that the Celtics have managed to seek out their stride offensively. Veteran forward Grant Williams attributed Boston’s early success to their “consistent” approach accompanied by players investing and trusting the journey following their 2021-22 NBA Finals appearance.

“We’re being consistent on what we’d like to perform,” Williams said, per team provided video. “We’re consistent with our approach each day, consistent with our mentality during games and we’re trusting each other. The most important thing about this team is we’re learning learn how to be great with each other and make everyone higher around them. So, now we have an extended ways to go but we’re in the appropriate track straight away.”

Of their most up-to-date win, against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, the Celtics embodied their next-man-up mentality higher than they’ve all season. Deferring to widespread of offensive contributions which included Derrick White’s first double-double of the season and 44 points on (17-for-25) 68% shooting from the sector from the bench, Boston’s depth absolutely showed out.

Nonetheless, Williams, who scored 18 points within the victory, is looking ahead. Not getting caught up within the early-year hype or content, the 23-year-old understands the larger picture ahead for the Celtics down the road.

“Now we have to be higher,” Williams said. “… Because we all know what our ultimate goal is. So, that’s the mentality now we have, even on a back-to-back, even on an evening where we don’t feel like playing. Now we have to recollect where we were and what we wish to perform.

“Our guys are prepared each night. Guys like Payton (Pritchard), guys like Luke (Kornet), guys like Sam (Hauser), myself — even the fellows that come off the bench. … Were all just trynna perform and do our jobs and play our roles to one of the best of our ability. And I believe that’s what we’re accomplishing straight away and everybody?s bought in… And excited for the chance each night.”
