Why Luka Doncic is the very best young NBA player, per T-Mac

Published:

When Tracy McGrady looks at Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic, he sees the long run face of the NBA. The Slovenian wonderboy just has that massive impact and “it” factor that screams he’s next.

The NBA icon revealed as much in his latest appearance on The Wealthy Eisen Show, heaping praise on the Mavs star and the way he plays the sport. While McGrady admits Doncic shouldn’t be essentially the most athletic or flashy player within the NBA, he still gets the job done and more together with his basketball IQ and skills that aren’t seen in any 23-year-old on the market.

“Luka is pretty rattling good,” McGrady said when asked about the very best young player within the NBA today.

“I really like watching Luka because Luka shouldn’t be the fastest, he’s not the quickest, he can’t hop over a dollar but skill-wise, his skill level is off the charts. He knows the right way to control the pace of the sport, he knows the right way to create space and get his shot off anybody, whether it’s any individual that’s greater, stronger, quicker than him. He just knows the right way to play the sport and control the pace.”

Nobody can argue with Tracy McGrady’s reasoning right there. In spite of everything, Luka Doncic has been phenomenal since entering the league in 2018, and he has already achieved quite a bit in his young profession.

Along with his current trajectory, it’s not hard to see Doncic winning multiple MVP trophies and championships if the Mavs can surround him with higher talent.

Moreover, it shouldn’t be only T-Mac who has been impressed with the Mavs teenager. Even Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James professed his love for Doncic, as he highlighted the identical points that McGrady made in his latest interview.

Sure enough, the likes of Jayson Tatum, Ja Morant and even Trae Young all have cases for the very best young player within the NBA, but until they will persuade the others they’re higher, the title goes to Doncic (at the very least for McGrady and James).
