Gary Neville savaged France’s Ousmane Dembele during ITV’s half-time coverage of the World Cup final.
Dembele was brought off within the forty first minute having earlier given away the penalty that Lionel Messi scored to make it 1-0 Argentina.
And Neville said: “
Ah, it’s pathetic. Di Maria position, selection, well done to the manager, it is a genius selection, it’s stretched that French team.
“[Alexis] Mac Allister has been in that pocket, they’ve not been capable of address it, Messi has come to the precise hand side.
“The penalty, I actually have to say, Dembele although he’s a large player, what he does, this initial challenge… you realize what Di Maria’s going to do; he’s been doing it for 10 years.
“It’s embarrassing. I’m torn between one, I feel it’s a soft penalty but additionally stupidity and to get on the fallacious side, you should be discovered.
“Dembele gets discovered, he’s on the lookout for it, he knows what he’s doing but Dembele gets played like a bit of boy.”
